After the loss of my high school sweetheart of 23 years, and 13 years later, a marriage that unraveled because I tried to outrun loneliness, I found myself at 66 asking a question I never thought I’d face:
“At our age, what makes love last?”
I tried to answer it the world’s way—through dating apps, wishful thinking, and assuming that being a “good person” was enough.
However, I soon discovered that love without spiritual clarity is like sailing without a compass. You might move forward, but you won’t know where you’re going.
Silver Time Dating wasn’t born from a business plan. It was born in prayer, heartbreak, and the whisper of God asking me to use my pain as a platform. It began as a journal, with a few stories, and then evolved into 16 Chapters of a book and a resource for a much deeper calling:
A Ministry was Born.
Not a Product—A Purpose
The dating world is noisy. There’s a lot of “swipe right,” “text me later,” and “hope for the best.” But what if hope isn’t a strategy?
What if preparation is holy, healing is required, and love—true, lasting love—isn’t something we chase, but something we become ready to receive? I didn’t want another dating advice book; I wanted to create a place where people could pause, breathe, and say:
“I still believe in love. But I want to do it God’s way.”
That’s what Silver Time Dating is about.
A Ministry for the Forgotten
Too often, Christian seniors are overlooked in both the dating and sometimes even in the faith worlds. Churches may have singles ministries, but rarely do they speak to those who’ve lost a spouse, been through divorce, or find themselves starting over with grown children and an empty house.
I wanted to say this clearly and with conviction:
God sees you. You are not alone. And you are not done.
Silver Time Dating exists for the widowed, the weary, the hopeful, and the faithful. It’s a path forward—rooted in biblical principles, spiritual clarity, and emotional readiness.
That’s why I created the M.A.G.I.C. framework:
“M” – Meaningful Preparation
“A” – Authentic Presentation
“G” – God-Guided Discernment
“I” – Intentional Relationship Building
“C” – Commitment with Clarity
Not a Mailing List—A Movement
This isn’t just a blog. It’s not just a book. It’s not even just coaching.
It’s a Ministry.
It’s a way to invite people back into the possibility of love without shame or fear. It’s a beacon of hope for those navigating loneliness in the second half of life. It’s a call to rediscover that joy, connection, and even a “last, first date” are still possible—if we walk the journey with God and one another.
From the Trenches: A Book was Born
I’m not a 30-year-old relationship guru, writing from a theory. I’ve been in the trenches and written a survival guide for the over 50 person looking for a final, lasting partner for the rest of their life together—Silver Time Dating: A Godly Pathway to Love After 50—You’re Not Alone!
This book is born out of my desire to find a companion for this chapter of life. It spans over 350 pages with carefully crafted chapters and accompanying worksheets that I wish I had when I started dating.
Many of us are looking for companions to walk this final path of life.
